I had a very consistent month (consistently average). It was so average my scores were 44, 42,42,43. As Karren Brady would say "No Fireworks, no Disasters". Romelu Lukaku needs to get his act together in November.

Month 2 September 2017
At the end of Month 2 we have a breakaway leader in Seamus Tunney, who has amassed 486 points by the end of September. He leads Paul Wheatcroft in 2nd place by 54 points (432 points) with last years champion Barney Le Fevre a further 5 points back on 427 points.
I had a good (not spectacular) month moving up to 16th place overall. It could've been better with a bit of luck and better choices but as they say "If my Granny had balls she'd be my Grandad". There is one hard ...

Month 1 comes to an end and after the dust had settled Senai Xavier found himself out front with an impressive 204 points. In 2nd place was Craig Burkert with 190 points and close behind Steve Warnham and Paul Wheatcroft with 183 points. Senai had the foresight to change a winning formula in week 3 and swapped Lukaku for Alli as Captain with the fore mentioned scoring 0 points!
I made an okay start but stuck with Lukaku therefore scoring 0 points (doubled to 0 Points) for m...

Month 10 May 2017
So our biggest season ever comes to an end with a dramatic end of season battle for the title. In the end it was down to two players who threw everything at it and Barney Le Fevre came out on top with 2432 points, just 7 points clear of Ben Wareing with 2425 points. Congratulations to Barney who bags himself 200 quid and the 2016 / 17 TJG FF Trophy. Ben picks up a Ton for 2nd place, then we have Ally Townend 3rd with 2328 points (£50), Paul Wheatcroft 4th with 2281 points (Â...

We're really getting to the business end of the season now and we have a 3 horse race (possibly 4). After another great month Ben Wareing has hit the top! Ben has 2087 points, 20 points ahead of Barney Le Fevre in 2nd place. Ally Townend has dropped to 3rd place but still in contention with 2035 points. Andy McIntosh is a bit further back but still has an outside chance.

Month 8 March 2017
It would appear that March has finished because of the International break. Barney Le Fevre leads the way on 1754 points and has opened up a bit of a lead over Ally Townend who is 2nd on 1715 points. Ben Wareing has really closed the gap this month and now only 14 points behind Ally on 1701 points, then a big gap to Danny Barran 1643 points in 4th place.

The Top 2 have made a break for it. Barney Le Fevre leads the way on 1547 points and Ally Townend is only 1 point behind on 1546 points. After that there's a big gap to Ben Wareing on 1501 points, then another big gap to Andy McIntosh 1460 points in 4th place.
Another very uninspiring month of Fantasy Football management saw me drop further back to 41st place and now over 250 points off the lead. Time to concentrate on the MOTM or the magical 100 points! Mind you I'm drift...

A busy month has seen a breakaway group emerge setting a rare old pace at the top. When the dust had settled at the end of 2016 (well actually 1st Jan) early season leader Karl Jones had regained top spot with 1114 points. Barney Le Fevre had dropped to 2nd on 1093 points, closely followed by Ben Wareing on 1088 points and Danny Barran on 1083 points.

After another shortened month because of Internationals we have a new leader in Barney Le Fevre with 744 points but after a quiet period, serial Fantasy Football Manager Ally Townend is showing his teeth in 2nd place on 735 points. Leader after October, Dave Groves has dropped to 3rd place with 733 points and Karl Jones is back in the frame on 724 points in 3rd place.

MOTM for August was Karl Jones with 206 points but that doesn't tell the full story! After 2 weeks Steve Lamb was the clear leader with only Aidan Murray seriously challenging. Steve had gone big early tempted by the £50 MOTM prize, Triple Captain and Bench Boost used in first 2 weeks. Me...

Week - 36 - Oh no, Steven Gerrard of all people slipped and let Demba Ba in on goal to score. Jose Mourinho then parked 2 buses in front of the Chelsea goal. All this handed the initiative back to Man City who duly beat Crystal Palace thanks to a possessed Ya Ya Toure. Liverpool now need local rivals Everton to do them a favour by not losing to Man City. Ryan Giggs took charge of Man Utd for the first time and started with a 4 - 0 win against Norwich. At the bottom Sunderland continued their...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 35

Week - 35 - Liverpool made it 11 wins in a row but it was a tense finish as they held on to beat Norwich City 2 - 3. Jose Mourinho lost a PL match at Stamford Bridge for the first time in the 78th match going down 1 - 2 to Sunderland, who completed a remarkable week taking 4 points from trips to Man City and Chelsea. Liverpool v Chelsea next in what could be a title decider. Man Utd lost again, this time 2 - 0 at Everton and it was the final chance for 'The Chosen One' as David Moyes was vis...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 34

Week - 34 - Liverpool beat Man City and Steven Gerrard cried. Who can blame him, as they can now smell their first title since 1990. Their week got even better when Man City failed to beat bottom club Sunderland at the Etihad and nearly lost. Arsenal enjoyed a bit of good fortune as well, when Everton lost at home to Crystal Palace 2 - 3 with man of the moment, Jason Puncheon scoring again.
MOTW was again Ted Barnwell with a massive score of 95 points. Ted is also leader of April MOTM sur...

Week - 33 - Liverpool won again thanks to a couple of Stevie G penalties against West Ham. Man City beat Southampton 4 - 1 but their second goal defied the laws of offside unless it's been changed from level with the last defender to 4 yards past! Arsenal were thrashed by Everton and are now in danger of missing out on the Champions League, except they've got an easy run-in. Liverpool v Man City next, who will hold their nerve!
MOTW was Ted Barnwell with a very impressive score of 79 points...

Week - 32 - A great week for Liverpool as they bid for their first title since 1990. They thrashed Spurs as usual, with Manager Tim Sherwood watching from the stands so he could get a better view of how shit Spurs really are! Chelsea lost to Crystal Palace thanks to a JT o.g. Liverpool's weekend was complete with Arsenal and Man City drawing 1 - 1. 6 games left, win them all and they're Champions, simple as.. ! Arsenal are now looking over their shoulder with Everton only 4 points back with...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 31

Week - 31 - Oh my Lord! Chelsea beat Arsenal 6 - 0 and the referee sends off the wrong player (see above right). Liverpool won 3 - 6 at Cardiff with Luis Suarez scoring another hat trick but Man City could only manage 5 in beating Fulham 5 - 0 with a Ya Ya hat trick. A couple of wonder goals to tell you about, Wayne Rooney scored with a volley from near the half way line but that was topped for me by an amazing volley by Alex Tettey for Norwich against Sunderland. That's just the weekend!

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 30

Week - 30 - Time must be running out for David Moyes after another home defeat for Man Utd, losing 0 - 3 to Liverpool. His chances of making the Champions League spot are now "slim and none... and slim may have just left town" Kingpin 1996. Liverpool were actually awarded 3 penalties (at Old Trafford!) with Steven Gerrard scoring the first two and hitting the post with other. The 3rd penalty saw Vidic sent off after a disgraceful dive by Sturridge. Man City also had Vincent Kompany sent off...

Week - 29 - Not many games this weekend with the FA Cup Quarter finals. Chelsea beat Spurs 4 - 0 which was made a bit flattering with 2 late goals from Demba Ba. The first goal was scored by their 49 year old striker Samuel Eto'o but his back gave way in the celebration (see above). Mourinho would still rather be 9 points behind with 3 games in hand! Man Utd moved closer to that Europa League spot that all their fans crave with a comfortable 0 - 3 win at West Brom. Cardiff beat Fulham 3 - 1 ...

Week - 28 - Lets start with Alan Pardew shall we? He should know better in these times where Football is becoming a non contact sport. However he was fortunate to pick one of the few players who wouldn't go down like a 'Ton of Bricks'. What did make me laugh was on MOTD they were praising David Meyler for not reacting! The truth was he would've walked over hot coals to lamp him but was held back by about 5 players! On the pitch Liverpool negotiated a tough fixture winning 0 - 3 at Southamp...

Week - 27 - The Top 4 all won (Chelsea with a late, late winner over Everton). Game of the weekend was at Anfield where Liverpool came out on top 4 - 3 in a thriller with Swansea. Sturridge and Henderson helping themselves to a brace each. Giroud also bagged himself a couple of goals as Arsenal won 4 - 1 against Sunderland. Another contender for miss of the season goes to Edin Dzeko who didn't know his 'arse from his elbow' with the goal at his mercy. He did however make good contact with th...

Week - 26 - The weather finally caught up with the Premier League, with Man City and Everton games postponed. Arsenal and Chelsea both failed to take advantage, so the real winners were Liverpool who twice trailed to Fulham but won 2 - 3 in the end. Tottenham won 0 - 4 at Newcastle with Adebayor grabbing himself another couple of goals.
MOTW was Cary Hastings with an impressive 73 points, especially considering he still has Aaron Ramsey, Sergio Aguero and Adel Taarabt (doesn't even play in t...

Week - 25 - Wow! Liverpool blitzed Arsenal with 4 goals in the first 19 minutes. Defender Martin Skrtel grabbing 2 goals in the first 10 mins. They ended up winning 5 - 1 and Suarez didn't even score (waste of money). Chelsea were also on fire with Eden Hazard scoring a hat-trick, the second goal a sublime interchange with Samuel Eto'o. However Man City could only draw 0 - 0 at Norwich to leave Jose's 'Little Horse' in the lead.
The pressure is really on Rene Meulensteen now after his Fulham...

Week - 24 - Chelsea went to the Etihad and left with all 3 points after a 1 -0 win over Man City. Despite being level on points with City and only 2 points behind Arsenal, Jose Mourinho still thinks that his side "are a little horse that still needs milk and to learn how to jump. A horse that next season can race".
West Ham got back to winning ways despite having 'Big' Andy Carroll sent off for accidently catching Chico Flores in the face while impersonating a helicopter. Chico went dow...

Week - 23 - Tim Sherwood was enjoying being 'Head Boy' until the 'Bully Boys' of Man City came to town and pinched his dinner money and flushed his head down the toilet (5 times!). Liverpool did pretty much the same to Roberto Martinez with Suarez and Sturridge falling over themselves to score. RVP returned for Man Utd with a goal and Juan Mata made his debut. Arsenal and Chelsea could only draw which left Man City at the Top of the League. Chelsea had 125% possession and 75 shots on goal to...

Week - 22 - Samuel Eto'o rolled back the years by scoring a hat-trick for Chelsea in their 3-1 win over Man Utd. At least Wayne Rooney made himself useful doing a bit of stewarding for Chelsea (see below).

Arsenal and Man City won again and in the process Man City brought up 100 goals for the season (in all competitions), more than half the league put together! Adebayor continues to do the magic for Spurs and with Liverpool and Everton drawing the 4th Champions League spot is up for grabs! D...

Week - 21 - Adam Johnson came out of hibernation to fire a hat- trick in Sunderland's 4 - 1 win at Fulham. The first hat-trick of his career. Cheick Tioté had a perfectly good goal disallowed for offside because no one knows the rules anymore (see below).
Alan Pardew used some choice words at Half time hoping that Manuel Pelligrini didn't understand English! Liverpool won 5 - 3 at Stoke and the SAS were back in tandem. Two more goals for Suarez, is there no stopping the man.

Week - 20 - A new year but the same old story for Man Utd, losing at home for the 4th time this season, this time to Tottenham. Arsenal stay top after 2 late, late goals against Cardiff. West Ham sink closer to the trapdoor with defeat at Fulham and Kevin Nolan was sent off for a petulant kick. Maybe they should appoint Top Cat as Manager, "He's the boss, he's a pip, he's the championship".

I ask my staff to be respectful." - "I just thought they were horrendous, biased, cheating bastards!" (text left from Man City 2 Liverpool 1). "Of course mistakes are made, some are even accidental", Graham Taylor. There's no argument, he's arguably in the form of his life", Mark Lawrenson.

Week 16 - Were Spurs right to get rid of AVB after a humiliating, embarrassing, nowhere to hide, 5 - 0 home defeat to Liverpool? A bit harsh considering that they spent £100m on some rubbish players. Luis Suarez was at it again with 2 more goals and 3 assists and who needs Gerrard when you've got Jordan Henderson! Arsenal's title ambitions took a hammering at Man City going down 6 - 3 in a lunchtime thriller. Fernandinho scoring his first 2 goals for City. Man Utd got back to winning ways wi...

Week 15 - "He's magic you know, Deulofeu, Deulofeu, he's magic you know". A great strike by the young Everton striker earned them a much deserved draw at Arsenal. Plans for the Sir David Moyes Stand at Old Trafford have been put on hold after another home defeat. The last time Newcastle won at OT Gazza wasn't even an alcoholic. He was only 5 years old though, a good 7 years before a Geordie reaches their drinking prime! At Selhurst Park Tony Pulis is weaving his magic, with 2 home wins in a w...

Man City finally won away from home but nearly threw away a 3 goal lead and Chelsea came out on top in a 7 goal thriller at the Stadium of Light, with Eden Hazard in inspired form. Week 13 - Is Liverpool's charge for that Europa League spot faltering? A 3 -1 defeat to Hull 'Tigers' FC won't do them any favours. Arsenal won again but Aaron Ramsey wasn't celebrating scoring 2 goals against his former team. Chelsea recovered from conceding after 13 seconds to beat Southampton 3 - 1. Spurs held Man Utd 2 - 2 at the Lane, which included a screamer from Sandro. Another player to score an absolute beauty was Sissoko of Newcastle, what a goal! What with Joe Allen last week and ...

Week 12 - Another goalkeeping master class this week. Artur Boruc 'Showboated' 15 times before losing the ball to Olivier Giroud and Hugo Lloris did a 'Sally Gunnell' with his kick to give Man City a chance to score after 10 seconds of the game. Mind you it was a sublime finish by 'Jesus of Nazareth'. Man City put 6 past Spurs as AVB's plan to play with no defence, midfield and attack was cruelly exposed. Sergio Aguero now has more Premier League goals than the whole of the Tottenham team put...

Week 11 - RVP downed his old club Arsenal to put Man Utd back in the title race. Mourinho preserved his record of never losing at the Bridge in the PL, only thanks to an injury time penalty after Ramires went down easier than "a one legged man in an arse kicking competition". Man City lost 1 - 0 to Sunderland (as usual) and Liverpool and Southampton both won to close the gap at the top. Elsewhere Man City put 7 (seven) past a hapless Norwich and Arsenal went 5 points clear at the top after beating Liverpool 2 - 0.
