Month 10 May 2018 - Final
So another season comes to an end and our champion for the second year running was Barney Le Fevre. Barney had led for a long time and obviously knows something we don't! Barney finished with 2416 points. In 2nd place was Neil Burke with 2322 points, a very good challenge by Neil. In 3rd place was Ally Townend with 2290 points, 4th Craig Burkert with 2243 points and the final prizemoney shared by Paul Wheatcroft and Andy Barnett with 2237 points.
I had a good end to the season and as it happens I would have been MOTM had I picked Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as triple captain in Week 37 instead of Gabriel Jesus, however as they say "If my Granny had balls, she'd be my Grandad". As it turns out with Jesus as triple captain I scored exactly 100 points to win the £100 Jackpot (downgraded to £33.33 as two others also scored 100 points). I finished 15th overall which I was pleased with.
MOTM for May was Andy Barnett with 192 points, just beating the challenge of Stewart Murdoch with 189 points. Andy cleverly played his wildcard in the last week of April, so he could play his Bench Boost in Week 37, then Patrick Van Aanholt did the business in Week 38 scoring 18 points. Ben Wareing just missed out on some prizemoney with 184 points.
Rollover '100' - Slight change this season. The first person to score exactly 100 points will win £25, the last person will win £100 (could win both if the only person). If no one scores exactly 100 points it will go to the closest person (first person to be closest). In Week 20 Ben Wareing scored the magical 100 points to claim the £25. Ben held this distinction until Week 37 when a lot of people were all over it. When the dust settled 3 people emerged with 100 points, Ally Townend, Alister Baldwin and Marvin Simmonds sharing the £100 Jackpot.
The Kick Off Cup Final saw Barney Le Fevre v Neil Burke and like the league Barney prevailed to complete the League & Cup Double.
Highest Weekly Score Winner - The highest weekly score leader was Steve Lamb who scored a 121 points in Week 31. It looked like this might be the winner but Ben Wareing scored a massive 125 points in Week 37 to snatch the cash! This went some way to make up for losing the £100 Jackpot in the same week.
The TJG League was won by Craig Burkert, who picks up £80 for his trouble. Paul Wheatcroft and Andy Barnett shared the rest of the prizemoney.
