Month 6 January 2020
Still incredibly close at the top with only 6 points separating the top 3 players but we have new players in the mix. Mike Barnard has moved from 3rd to Top the league at the end of January with 1396 points. Stewart Murdoch has moved into 2nd place on 1392 points, with Darryl Bate close behind on 1390 points. These 3 have started a little breakaway group.
MOTM for January was Trish Dutfield / Dave Targett scoring a very impressive 297 points for the month. They really piled it on in the last 2 weeks, not only getting the highest weekly score both weeks, they got the season's highest weekly score both weeks. They finished well clear of 2nd placed Nathan Sims with 265 points. Trish / Dave win £40 and Nathan picks up £20. Barney Le Fevre just missed out by 3 points.
I was going along quite nicely then disaster struck in week 23 and week 24. After week 22 I'd moved into contention, so studied the fixtures and picked a winning team. Lowest score in the whole league, 21 points! Top scorer was my Goalkeeper with 3 points. I didn't fair much better in week 24. Played my Wildcard with Liverpool and West Ham having an extra match. Diop scored 0 points in 180 minutes, picked Mane for the first time this season, made him Captain, got injured 2 points for double game week. Now languishing in mid-table.
Rollover '100' - The first person to score exactly 100 points will win £25, the last person will win £100 (could win both if the only person). No one scored 100 points in January, but we have a new nearest score, Trish and Dave in Week 23 with 98 points. Can they hang on? Surely someone will get 100 points?.
The Kick Off Cup continued in January 2020 with the Top 16 qualifying for Round 3 in February 2020. Marvin Simmonds claimed 16th place. The unlucky players in joint 17th place were Rohan Rawat and Nathan Whetton (see right for the 16 qualifiers).
Highest Weekly Score Leader - Again we have a new Highest Weekly score and again it's Trish and Dave with 108 points scored in week 24. Triple Captain Mo Salah with 48 points was a big help.
The TJG League is also led by Mike Barnard with 1396 points followed by Darryl Bate with 1390 points and Joe Stone 3rd with 1367 points.
