Month 4 December 2020
Month 4 - December, was a long month with 6 game weeks, and it's been a theme of this season, with only Andy Barnett maintaining his place in the Top 5. The new leader is last year's champion, David Groves, who has not only come from outside the Top 5 at the start of the month, he has built up a healthy lead over Adam Kilbride in 2nd place and Scott Lauder in 3rd. Andy Barnett 4th and Mike Barnard 5th, make up the Top 5. David is on 1003 points, Adam on 974 points and Scott on 963 points.
No surprise that MOTM for December was David Groves, just holding off previous champion Barney Le Fevre by 6 points. David had a very consistent month with good choices of Captain, David finished on 404 points, Barney on 398 points and Dickon Payne was the unlucky player in 3rd on 392 points. David wins £40 and Barney £20.
I continue to tread water, still using my superpower to pick the wrong Captain. I have now picked Bruno Fernandes who seems to score a penalty every game (so he'll probably never score again now he's in my team). I have now slipped into Tier 4 of middle table obscurity.
Rollover '100' - The first person to score exactly 100 points will win £25, the last person will win £100. We didn't have to wait very long as in Week 2 new player Hazar Khan scored the magical 100 points to bag himself an early £25. However this was matched in December by Trish Dutfield / Dave Targett in Week 14. No prizemoney at the moment, remember the last person to score 100 points in the season wins the £100 jackpot.
The Kick Off Cup started in December 2020 with the Top 32 players for the MONTH of December qualifying for the next round. The lucky players qualifying in joint 31st place were yours truly, Alister Baldwin and Hazar Khan. The 2 unlucky players who missed out by just one point, were Matt Saxby and Luke Hughes. (see right for the 32 qualifiers for Round 2). The Top 16 of those 32 in the MONTH of January will qualify for Round 3.
Highest Weekly Score Leader - The Highest Weekly score was in Week 2 with Hazar Khan scoring 100 points. That was overtaken in Week 14 by Barney Le Fevre with 103 points. Remember its the score shown on the website, so isn't adjusted for extra transfers.
The TJG League is led by Adam Kilbride on 974 points, Scott Lauder is 2nd with 963 points and Andy Barnett 3rd on 960 points.
