Month 6 February 2021
30 days hath September, April, June, and November; All the rest have 31, excepting February alone, and that has 28 days clear, and 29 in each leap year (and 32 days in Fantasy Football). So the longest February on record finally came to a close on March 4th, and two time champion Barney Le Fevre continued his charge, by moving clear at the top for the first time this season. Barney has been on fire over the last 3 months, finishing 2nd in both December and January and 4th in February. Adam Kilbride has moved up to 2nd place and still keeping pace with Barney. David Groves dropped to 3rd after a poor month by his standards but is still in contention. Jason Parsons and Stewart Murdoch make up the Top 5, and Ally Townend just behind in 6th place. Barney is on 1745 points, Adam on 1730 points and David 1715 points.
MOTM for February was again closely fought with Stewart Murdoch just holding off Andy Salmons by 9 points. Stewart played Bench Boost and Triple Captain and also had a really good week in between, scoring 102 points. Andy also played Bench Boost and Triple Captain but just came up short. Stewart finished on 461 points, Andy on 452 points and Joe Stone was a distant 3rd on 433 points. Stewart wins £40 and Andy £20.
I finally had a good week in the last week of the month, scoring 104 points. However, I still found time for a 'Schoolboy error' by not selecting Mendy in goal in a double week and he kept 2 clean sheets for 16 points. That aside it was bang average stuff as I settle comfortably in mid-table obscurity.
Rollover '100' - The first person to score exactly 100 points wins £25, the last person will win £100. We didn't have to wait very long as in Week 2 new player Hazar Khan scored the magical 100 points to bag himself an early £25. However, this was matched in Week 14 by Trish Dutfield / Dave Targett, then in Week 22 Road Man put himself in pole position, only to be knocked off by Neil Pattison and Richard Collins in Week 26. Loads more players have come very close scoring 99 and 101 points. No prizemoney at the moment, *remember the last person(s) to score 100 points in the season wins the £100 jackpot.
The Kick Off Cup entered Round 3 in February 2021 with the Top 16 players for the MONTH of January being whittled down to 8 players in February. The lucky player qualifying in 8th place Ally Townend.  The unlucky player who just missed out by 4 points was Jason Parsons (see right for the 8 qualifiers for the Quarter Finals). The Top 4 of those 8 in the MONTH of March will qualify for the Semi Finals.
Highest Weekly Score Leader - The first Highest Weekly score was in Week 2 with Hazar Khan scoring 100 points, that was overtaken in Week 14 by Barney Le Fevre with 103 points but that was blown out of the water in Week 19 by Metin H scoring a massive 140 points. He played Bench Boost which yielded 29 points and John Stones scored a massive 27 points on his own. Remember its the score shown on the website, so isn't adjusted for extra transfers.
The TJG League is led by Adam Kilbride on 1730 points, Mike Barnard is 2nd with 1656 points and Andy Barnett 3rd on 1658 points. Jon Banks just outside the podium places on 1655 points.
