Month 5 January 2021
Month 5 - January, saw last years champion David Groves maintain his lead but he has a new challenger in two time champion Barney Le Fevre. Barney has been on fire over the last 2 months, finishing 2nd in both December and January. Adam Kilbride has dropped to 3rd but is still well in contention. Jason Parsons and Ally Townend have moved into the Top 5, and Mike Fetters just behind in 6th place. David is on 1325 points, Barney on 1320 points and Adam on 1308 points.
MOTM for January was closely fought with Metin H just holding off Barney Le Fevre by 9 points. Metin was helped by a storming Week 19 (see Highest Weekly Score below). Metin finished on 380 points, Barney on 371 points and Matt Saxby was a distant 3rd on 347 points.  Metin wins £40 and Barney £20.
I continue to struggle but had a stroke of luck indirect linked to the sacking of Frank Lampard and the appointment of Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. Reece James had made the right back slot his own under Lampard but Tuchel wanted to see Azpilicueta, and as a result James didn't play so my first reserve (Tomas Soucek) came in with a nice 15 points. That however, is all I have to be excited about.
Rollover '100' - The first person to score exactly 100 points will win £25, the last person will win £100. We didn't have to wait very long as in Week 2 new player Hazar Khan scored the magical 100 points to bag himself an early £25. However this was matched in December by Trish Dutfield / Dave Targett in Week 14. No prizemoney at the moment, remember the last person to score 100 points in the season wins the £100 jackpot.* Look out for February update!
The Kick Off Cup entered Round 2 in January 2021 with the Top 32 players for the MONTH of December being whittled down to 16 players in January, for the next round. The lucky player qualifying in 16 place was previous league winner, Craig Burkert. The 2 unlucky players who just missed out were Stewart Murdoch and Raj Lal (see right for the 16 qualifiers for Round 3). The Top 8 of those 16 in the MONTH of February will qualify for the Quarter Finals.
Highest Weekly Score Leader - The first Highest Weekly score was in Week 2 with Hazar Khan scoring 100 points, that was overtaken in Week 14 by Barney Le Fevre with 103 points but that was blown out of the water in Week 19 by Metin H scoring a massive 140 points. He played Bench Boost which yielded 29 points and John Stones scored a massive 27 points on his own. Remember its the score shown on the website, so isn't adjusted for extra transfers.
The TJG League is led by Adam Kilbride on 1308 points, Mike Barnard is 2nd with 1258 points and Andy Barnett 3rd on 1251 points.
