Kick Off Fantasy Football 2021 / 2022

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 23

January 31, 2014
Week - 23 - Tim Sherwood was enjoying being 'Head Boy' until the 'Bully Boys' of Man City came to town and pinched his dinner money and flushed his head down the toilet (5 times!). Liverpool did pretty much the same to Roberto Martinez with Suarez and Sturridge falling over themselves to score. RVP returned for Man Utd with a goal and Juan Mata made his debut. Arsenal and Chelsea could only draw which left Man City at the Top of the League. Chelsea had 125% possession and 75 shots on goal to West Ham's 1 which left Jose Mourinho moaning that West Ham played "football from the 19th century".

 Chelsea v West Ham c1899
MOTW was Andy McIntosh with a very impressive 85 points. It also secured him 3rd place in the January MOTM from nowhere. Sam Bowcher just held on to be crowned MOTM for January with 289 Points only 2 points ahead of Chloe Woolgar on 287 points.  Overall Leader is Revanth Katakamsetti with 1450 points but others have closed the gap. However there is a 46 point gap now between 5th and 6th. In the round of 16 in the TJG Super Cup Reiss Higgins and Will Cooper just claimed 16th place from Robin Stander and a few others. See below if you made the final 16.

Another disaster of a week saw me finish last in the Round of 32 and drop further down the table. It's all about playing for pride now and the MOTM of course. I think my problem is thinking outside the box, well let me tell you there's nothing there except Januzaj playing 6 mins, Kolarov 10 mins and Eto'o trying to pinch goals when no one is looking!

Leader Week 23 - Revanth Katakamsetti- 1,450 Points
MOTW  - Andy McIntosh - 85 Points
MOTM January Winner - Sam Bowcher - 289 Points

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 22

January 21, 2014
Week - 22 - Samuel Eto'o rolled back the years by scoring a hat-trick for Chelsea in their 3-1 win over Man Utd. At least Wayne Rooney made himself useful doing a bit of stewarding for Chelsea (see below).

Arsenal and Man City won again and in the process Man City brought up 100 goals for the season (in all competitions), more than half the league put together! Adebayor continues to do the magic for Spurs and with Liverpool and Everton drawing the 4th Champions League spot is up for grabs! D...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 21

January 15, 2014
Week - 21 - Adam Johnson came out of hibernation to fire a hat- trick in Sunderland's 4 - 1 win at Fulham. The first hat-trick of his career. Cheick Tioté had a perfectly good goal disallowed for offside because no one knows the rules anymore (see below).
Alan Pardew used some choice words at Half time hoping that Manuel Pelligrini didn't understand English! Liverpool won 5 - 3 at Stoke and the SAS were back in tandem. Two more goals for Suarez, is there no stopping the man.

MOTW was Chloe...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 20

January 9, 2014

Week - 20 - A new year but the same old story for Man Utd, losing at home for the 4th time this season, this time to Tottenham. Arsenal stay top after 2 late, late goals against Cardiff. West Ham sink closer to the trapdoor with defeat at Fulham and Kevin Nolan was sent off for a petulant kick. Maybe they should appoint Top Cat as Manager, "He's the boss, he's a pip, he's the championship".

MOTW was Sam Bowcher with 77 points, almost 20 points more than anyone else! Sam is also MOTM leader ...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 19

January 2, 2014

Week - 19 - Chelsea beat Liverpool 2 - 1 but Brendan Rodgers is not a happy bunny. "I am not one that berates referees at all after games, I always respect them. I ask my staff to be respectful." - "I just thought they were horrendous, biased, cheating bastards!" (text left from Man City 2 Liverpool 1). Hull City were the big winners this weekend beating Fulham 6 - 0 and Tom Huddlestone started his haircut on the pitch. Maybe Fulham should sack their manager before anyone remembers his...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 18

December 27, 2013

Week 18 - Man City beat Liverpool 2 - 1 but Brendan Rodgers is not a happy bunny with the officials. "I am not one that berates referees at all after games, I always respect them. I ask my staff to be respectful." - "I just thought they were horrendous, biased, cheating bastards!". Man Utd went 2 - 0 down early against Hull City but battled back to turn it into a 3 - 2 win. Arsenal returned to the Top of the League after a comeback against West Ham that included Theo Walcott's first ever he...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 17

December 26, 2013

Week 17 - This week saw the sad passing of broadcasting legend, David Coleman. He was of course famous for the 'Colemanballs' gaffs. "The future isn't about yesterday, it's about today", David Pleat. "Of course mistakes are made, some are even accidental", Graham Taylor. There's no argument, he's arguably in the form of his life", Mark Lawrenson.

Spurs gave the job to Tim Sherwood after his masterstroke of bringing Emanuel Adebayor in from the cold to score 2 goals in a great 3 - 2 win at Sou...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 16

December 17, 2013

Week 16 - Were Spurs right to get rid of AVB after a humiliating, embarrassing, nowhere to hide, 5 - 0 home defeat to Liverpool? A bit harsh considering that they spent £100m on some rubbish players. Luis Suarez was at it again with 2 more goals and 3 assists and who needs Gerrard when you've got Jordan Henderson! Arsenal's title ambitions took a hammering at Man City going down 6 - 3 in a lunchtime thriller. Fernandinho scoring his first 2 goals for City. Man Utd got back to winning ways wi...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 15

December 11, 2013

Week 15 - "He's magic you know, Deulofeu, Deulofeu, he's magic you know". A great strike by the young Everton striker earned them a much deserved draw at Arsenal. Plans for the Sir David Moyes Stand at Old Trafford have been put on hold after another home defeat. The last time Newcastle won at OT Gazza wasn't even an alcoholic. He was only 5 years old though, a good 7 years before a Geordie reaches their drinking prime! At Selhurst Park Tony Pulis is weaving his magic, with 2 home wins in a w...

TJG Fantasy Football - Week 14

December 5, 2013

Week 14 - Luis Suarez has scored 11 goals in 4 games against Norwich but could only manage 4 last night! David Moyes finally saw Everton win at Old Trafford, only problem he was in the wrong dugout. Man City finally won away from home but nearly threw away a 3 goal lead and Chelsea came out on top in a 7 goal thriller at the Stadium of Light, with Eden Hazard in inspired form. Is he the best Chelsea player since his dad Micky Hazard played in the late 80's? Arsenal stay top with a routine win...
