FANTASY KICK OFF 2025/2026
Month 10 May 2026
So, another season is over, and Arsenal are Champions again after a 22-year wait. At the other end of the table, Tottenham survived on the last day, condemning West Ham to the Championship. We say goodbye to Pep Guardiola, Mo Salah, Bernardo Silva, and John Stones
Back to the Kick Off League, and O G (Metin) is your Champion, having led from start to finish - an amazing effort. Metin actually finished in 983rd place in the Overall league of 13.1million players, which is in the Top 0.007%! His nearest competitor was Joe Gibbins, who put up a great fight, but he couldn't quite get close enough to Metin. Former Kick-Off winner and Canada's finest, Adam Kilbride, secured 3rd place with a good finish to the season. Jon Banks completes the prize money positions, narrowly beating Mark Williams. Metin finished on 2448 points and won £125, Joe scored 2395 points and won £70, Adam scored 2352 points and won £50, and Jon scored 2307 points and won £25.
MOTM for May was a really close finish. Metin led for most of the month, but in Week 38, he was just overhauled by last year's Kick-Off champion, Barney Le Fevre, and last year's runner-up, Jon Davies. Barney finished on 290 points, Jon 289 points, and Metin 287 points; it was that close. Barney wins £30, and Jon wins £10.
The highest weekly score of the Month was won in Week 36 by Huw Chalker with an impressive score of 98 points. Huw played his Triple Captain on Haaland in Week 36 to help him secure the win. Huw won £10.
Having decided that I wasn't going to win any end-of-season prize money, I'd already thrown all 'my toys out of the pram' in April, so nothing left to give in May, but quite a successful season with December MOTM and possibly the Highest Weekly Score of the season. *Check out my team badge, representing Snakes, Belts, and Sudoku; however, it's really just a Snake.
Rollover '100' - The first person to score exactly 100 points (website score) will win £50, and the last person will win £50. *remember its the last person(s) to score 100 points in the season that wins the 2nd £50 jackpot. Finally, in Week 26, we had a winner. All the stars aligned, and Jon Banks finished on exactly 100 points. Jon bagged himself a nice £50 for his troubles. That proved to be the only 100 points scored, so Jon wins himself another £50.
There was, however, a valiant attempt in Week 38 by Alex Calver to win that final £50. With the transfer deduction (of - 4 points) not affecting the 100-point prize, Alex did 11 transfers, and as it turns out, he would've scored exactly 100 points if he had Captained Patrick Dorgu instead of Bernado Silva, or you could say, "If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike."
The Kick Off Cup reached the Final in May, and the 2 players who qualified for the Final were Mike Barnard and Joe Gibbins (I talk Fantasy Football to Mike almost every day, only for him to beat me by 1 point in our ultra-competitive Fantrax draft league). Anyway, back to the Final, and Mike had a poor month, handing the cup to Joe on a plate. Joe scored 249 points, and Mike scored 233 points. Joe won £45, and Mike £20
Highest Weekly Score of the season - Mark Williams set a new high score with 110 points in Week 8. I matched this score (Alister Baldwin) in Week 17; then we had the legendary Week 33. There was a battle royale between 3 of us (me, Paul Rogers, and Ally Townend) who all play in another Fantasy Football competition. We all played bench boost and had a lot of the same players, but in the end, it came down to two Bournemouth defenders. Ally and Paul both had James Hill, who scored a second-half own goal, and my Bournemouth defender, Senesi, had an assist, happy days! I scored 140 points, Ally 138 points and Paul 137 points, it was that close.
The TJG League was the forerunner of the Kick-Off league, so an important part of the story. Open to current and ex-employees, the kudos this season goes to Jon Banks with 2307 points ahead of Paul Rogers on 2272 points.
